Lockdown Lifted at North Miami Charter School: Police

Police have lifted a lockdown at a North Miami charter school after earlier reports of a possible gun or weapon on school grounds, police confirm.

After an exhaustive search of each student, police say they did not turn up any weapons. The investigation will now focus on finding whoever made the earlier 9-1-1 call that prompted the lockdown.

It is illegal to falsely call 9-1-1 in Florida.

Police swept Raul Arnaldo Martinez Charter School, otherwise known as ASPIRA Ram, after someone called and claimed a student on campus had a gun.

The investigation into the false call is ongoing.
