A fatal morning rollover crash caused lane closures on a busy South Florida roadway Tuesday.
Officers responded to the scene on the westbound lanes of I-595 near Hiatus Road shortly after 6:45 a.m. According to their report, the truck blew a tire and struck a concrete barrier wall.
The driver, 36-year-old Jairo Diaz Mendez of Fort Lauderdale, died at the scene. Two passengers, 26-year-old Alexandria Garcia Diaz and 25-year-old Marvin Gonzalez Estrada, were rushed to an area hosptial.
Westbound lanes were reduced down to just one open lane at points and drivers were advised to prepare for heavy delays as investigators continued to clear the scene.
