β€˜One Voice: Somos LIVE!' Benefit Event Raises Over $35 Million for Disaster Relief

The "One Voice: SOMOS Live!" disaster relief fundraising telecast and concert led by Marc Anthony, Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez has raised more than $35 million.

The funds will go to several organizations, including UNICEF, Feeding America, Save the Children, Habitat for Humanity and Unidos por Puerto Rico, to aid their efforts as they bring relief to afflicted areas, Telemundo said in a statement.

Near the end of this year's summer season, Puerto Rico; the southern United States, including South Florida; and the Caribbean were struck by powerful hurricanes, whereas Mexico felt the force of a 7.1-magnitude earthquake.

Two events were held Saturday night – one in Miami and another in Los Angeles.

Artists who performed at the Miami Marlins Park included Gente De Zona, DJ Khaled, Magic!, Prince Royce, Alejandro Sanz and Daddy Yankee, while Demi Lovato, Maroon 5, Ricky Martin, Gwen Stefani, Stevie Wonder and Mary J. Blige performed from an NBC soundstage in Los Angeles.

Donations are still being accepted online at somosonevoice.com (English); somosunavoz.com (Spanish); or by texting SOMOS to 50555.

Sprint, Popular, Walmart, American Airlines and Bloomberg Philanthropies underwrote the costs for the Marlins Park event so all proceeds gathered from the public could be distributed directly to the designated beneficiaries and others bringing relief.

The Miami Heat and the Carnival Corporation were also major donors acknowledged during the telecast that aired on dozens of networks including NBC, Telemundo, Univision and Viacom channels.
