Opa-locka Business Owner Accused of Luring Man to Murder Him

An Opa-locka man is facing an attempted murder charge after being accused of luring a man into his business to kill him, according to police.

Alejandro Gomez, 29, was arrested Thursday in connection with the Dec. 14 shooting at AG Auto Finance in the 13300 block of NW 47th Avenue, jail records show.

Police said Gomez told the victim to come to his business to collect the $200 he owed him. When the victim arrived, he followed Gomez into the office area, where Gomez pulled out a revolver and shot him point blank in the chest, according to an arrest affidavit.

The victim ran away, and Gomez allegedly ran after him and continued to shoot. The victim was shot multiple times and was hospitalized and is expected to recover.

Gomez first told police that he was robbed, but detectives say he lured the customer to murder him because he owed the customer $200.

Gomez faces charges of attempted second-degree murder and tampering with physical evidence, jail records show. He remains in jail on $30,000 bond. Information on an attorney was not available.
