Over 30 Rounds Fired into Miami-Dade Home With Family Inside

The homeowner said she moved into the area in August and has already been shot at twice

A Miami-Dade family is in shock after over thirty rounds were fired into their home early Wednesday morning.

According to police, no one was struck by the bullets, but homeowner Sandra Jones says her four children were inside the house at the time.

Their bedrooms, along with the living room and bathroom, were riddled with bullets.

"I'm just glad they slept with me last night because both of them would've been dead," Jones said.

The home is located on the 8000 block of Northwest 14th Avenue.

Jones says she moved into the area in August and has already been shot at twice.

Now, she's packing up her bags.

Ironically she came to the neighborhood to escape the gun violence.

"I got tired of hearing the guns. You get tired of seeing drama, sometimes you need to free your mind and I thought this place would be it," Jones says.

Police have not released any further information.
