Police are looking for a pair of robbers who ripped off a southwest Miami-Dade check cashing store while armed with a gun and stun gun.
The robbery happened the afternoon of Feb. 22 at the Cash and Go at 9801 Southwest 40th Street and was caught on the store's surveillance cameras, Miami-Dade Police said.
The robbers went in covered head to toe and started making threats and demands.
"The subject with the Taser did point the Taser at the victim and demanded money," Miami-Dade Police Det. Robin Pinkard said.
Unlike many check cashing stores Cash and Go doesn't have safety glass separating tellers from the public.
Once the robbers were behind the counter, they started ordering employees to empty drawers.
"The victims were in fear. Anyone who comes in at 2 in the afternoon with any type of weapon, whether it's a knife or Taser, they did comply and did get away with the money," Pinkard said. "They did have their faces covered. Both of them did have gloves and they had some type of hoodie over the heads."
The crooks got away with $1,900. Police said the pair fled in a gold Toyota Avalon. Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
