Panthers Score Early and Often in Win

The Panthers scored quickly in their 4-1 win over the Senators on Saturday

The Florida Panthers wasted little time in beating the Ottawa Senators 4-1 on Saturday at the Canadian Tire Centre.

Florida got on the board quickly and continued to add as the game continued on. The win was the second in three games during the team's four-game road trip. With the victory, the Panthers are now 9-8-1 on the season which is good for 19 points.

Jaromir Jagr found the back of the net at the 25-second mark of the first period. The goal for Jagr was his second of the season and it came with help from Aleksander Barkov and Keith Yandle.

At the 12:00 mark of the first period, Florida doubled the lead with a goal from Jussi Jokinen. The score was just the first of the season for Jokinen and it had some familiar names assisting on it. Jagr and Barkov both picked up assists after also being involved in the first goal of the game.

Jonathan Marchessault's team-leading ninth goal of the year put Florida up 3-0 at the 15:05 mark of the second period. Assisting on the score were Vincent Trocheck and Jason Demers.

After Ottawa ended the shutout, Derek MacKenzie put Florida back up by three. MacKenzie's goal went into the net at the 9:16 mark of the third period with an assist from Jagr.

Florida will be right back in action on Sunday against the New York Rangers at 7:00 p.m.
