Pembroke Pines Neighbor Dispute Leads to Shooting, Arrest: Cops

Julio E. Gonzalez was arrested Wednesday night and faces an attempted murder charge

A 69-year-old Pembroke Pines man is facing attempted murder charges after police say he shot his neighbor during an ongoing dispute.

Julio E. Gonzalez was arrested Wednesday night in the shooting that happened in the area of Southwest 187th Avenue and Southwest 14th Street, Pembroke Pines Police said.

Police said Gonzalez and the victim live in the same community and have been involved in an ongoing dispute.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Their name wasn't released.

Neighbor Patricia Correra said the two have had problems in the past.

"I knew it was the same people because it’s happened a few times a few months back," she said. "This is a quiet neighborhood but a few months back they’ve had some issues where the cops have come and things like that, so there’s certainly something going on there."

Gonzalez was booked into jail, where he was being held without bond Thursday, records showed. Attorney information wasn't available.
