Police are investigating after a person was found shot to death outside a home in Miami Gardens Tuesday morning.
The shooting happened on Northwest 19th Avenue near 152nd Street, Miami Gardens Police said.
Neighbor Mayra Mesa and her husband, Augusto Milian said they were woken up by more than a dozen gunshots around 4 a.m.
"More or less 15," Mesa said.
When Milian looked out his window, he said he saw a person dead on the sidewalk next to a dark blue minivan with a U.S. government-issued tag. He said a door was open on the minivan.
Detectives closed off the street and hauled away the van on a flatbed truck.
The victim's identity hasn't been released, and the shooting remains under investigation.
