A picture of a man in uniform who stepped out of his car in pouring rain to salute a passing funeral procession earlier this month is going viral.
Erin Hester posted a picture of the man on Facebook and Instagram and wrote on July 6 that “I always get frustrated when I see cars that don’t pull to the side and stop for a procession, but this gentlemen went above and beyond.”
The photo shows the man standing outside of his vehicle while the light at the intersection is red.
Hester’s Facebook post has been shared more than 129,000 times and has about 187,000 likes.
“This made my heart happy to see the amount of respect that this gentleman showed a family that he doesn’t even know,” the post said.
