A pilot was injured when his small plane crashed near downtown Cape Coral in southwest Florida Friday morning.
The plane went down around 9:30 a.m. near the Paradise Tiki Hut Restaurant and Bar, NBC 2 reported.
The pilot had radioed that he was having engine trouble, then said "I'm going down" before the plane crashed.
Footage showed the single-engine Cessna lying upside down in a parking lot. The plane clipped a power line as it went down, knocking out power for about 1,800 residents.
The pilot was taken to a nearby hospital with minor injuries.
