Police in Pinecrest are investigating after a homeowner walked in on suspects allegedly burglarizing his home.

It happened just after 11 a.m. Thursday in the 13300 block of Southwest 83rd Court.

The homeowner said the burglars broke into the home by smashing a master bedroom sliding glass door.

"Someone's in my house right now," the homeowner said on his 911 call.

Police arrived and set up a perimeter. Police personnel, who were assisted by county K-9 and aviation, canvassed the surrounding area to no avail.

The homeowner told police one of the men fled the house in a red or burgundy newer model Nissan Altima. The vehicle fled southbound towards 136th Street.

The second man reportedly fled barefoot westbound on Southwest 133rd Street towards Southwest 84th Avenue. The homeowner said he chased the man but lost sight of him.

The burglars reportedly got away with a Michael Kors women's watch valued at $350, and left behind pillow cases taken from the homeowner's bed with jewelry and tablets. A handgun that was taken from a secured lockbox was also left behind.

The two burglars were described by the homeowner as black males in their 20s.
