Dog Attacks Dachshund in Miami

A dachshund was attacked by another dog that was loosed in the neighborhood near the 200 block of NW 30th Avenue in Miami on Friday.

A witness told NBC 6 that the female dog attacked the dachshund while the little dog was being walked on a leash. The witness said the owner of the dog that attacked showed up and locked the dog in a car and went inside a home.

When police and paramedics arrived, police broke the window of the car to allow animal services to seize the dog. Police also took the owner of the dog into custody, but it’s unknown if any charges have been filed.

The dachshund suffered a severe wound to its rear left leg and was taken to a local veterinarian. Neighbors said the same dog had attacked and killed another dog earlier this year.
