Pitbull Christens Norwegian's Newest Ship: Norwegian Escape

Norwegian Cruise Line debuted their newest cruise ship, the Norwegian Escape, to much fanfare Monday at PortMiami.

Miami native and international music sensation Pitbull was selected to serve as Godfather for the Norwegian Escape. Pitbull was the headline performer at the ship's traditional christening ceremony Monday afternoon.

Pitbull, aka Armando Perez, already has a strong relationship with the cruise line. His signature Voli vodka brand is available across the Norwegian fleet and is featured in several signature drinks, including the aptly named Mr. Worldwide and Dale cocktails.

Norwegian boasts that the luxurious Escape takes entertainment at sea to a whole new level.

The massive Norwegian Escape is 172 feet from height of plank to sea level, and 1,065 feet long, making it the fifth largest cruise ship ever built. The ship features 12 pools and hot tubs, 21 bars and lounges, and 28 distinct dining options.

The cruise ship can accomodate more than 4,000 guests.

The Escape hosts the cruise line's first ocean front promenade, and the first at-sea restaurants for Miami's Potbelly Restaurant Group and Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville.

The fun continues on deck with a three-story adventure ropes course featuring more than 2,000 feet of rope, a tandem racing water slide, mini-golf and an adults-only waterfall grotto.

Norwegian Escape will set sail for weekly seven day sailings from PortMiami starting on November 14th.
