Pizza Delivery Gets Pair Arrested in Hialeah Armed Robbery

Maiya Ashlie Candelaria, 22, and Kadian Perkins, 19, were arrested on armed robbery charges Sunday

A pair of armed robbery suspects accused of stealing a man's wallet outside his Hialeah home were caught after they ordered a pizza using his credit card, police said.

Maiya Ashlie Candelaria, 22, and Kadian Perkins, 19, were arrested on armed robbery charges Sunday, according to an arrest report.

The report said the victim was speaking on his phone outside his home in the 8100 block of W. 14th Court Sunday morning when he was approached by Perkins, who pointed a gun at him and demanded his property. The victim handed his wallet over and Perkins fled in a car driven by Candelaria, the report said.

Immediately after the robbery, the victim's credit card was used to order a pizza, which was delivered to a trailer park in the area of 11380 Biscayne Boulevard in Miami, the report said. When detectives responded to the trailer park, they found Candelaria and Perkins sitting in a car, and they were taken into custody.

A black semi-automatic firearm was found in the front passenger side door compartment, the report said. The victim later identified Perkins as the gunman and Candelaria as the getaway driver, the report said.

Candelaria and Perkins were both ordered held without bond Monday. Attorney information wasn't available.
