Plantation Woman Filed Hundreds of Unauthorized Tax Returns: U.S. Attorney

A Plantation woman is facing charges in an identity theft fraud scheme involving hundreds of unauthorized tax returns, authorities said Tuesday.

Keyiona Marvette Wright, 27, is charged with aggravated identity theft and possessing fifteen or more unauthorized access devices, according to the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Florida.

Wright was being held in the Broward Jail Tuesday. It was unknown if she has an attorney.

Authorities said 734 unauthorized federal tax returns were filed from an I.P. address at an apartment rented by Wright beginning in March 2014. The tax returns were for more than $860,000, authorities said.

When authorities executed a search warrant at the apartment, they found thousands of personally identifiable information and numerous social security numbers.

Wright is facing a maximum of 10 years in prison if convicted.
