Police Board Miami-Bound Plane After Long Delay Leads to Altercation on JFK Runway

Passengers on Delta Flight 2385 posted videos on social media showing police officers boarding the plane after reported delays of more than six hours

An hours-long delay on the tarmac at JFK Airport in New York led to a fight among passengers on a Miami-bound plane Thursday night.

Passengers on Delta Flight 2385 posted videos on social media showing police officers boarding the plane after reported delays of more than six hours.

Airline officials said the flight had been delayed due to weather in both New York and Miami.

"Customers were offered both water and snack service while on the tarmac and were also offered the chance to take a bus back to the terminal given the plane was parked on a remote pad for quite some time," Delta said in a statement. "We apologize for the inconvenience."

The plane landed in Miami early Friday. No customers were involuntarily removed from the flight.
