Police Find Grinch Who Stole From Church Donation Locker

Michael Quick took more than 20 minutes to break into the church's donation locker.

A man who stole several hundred dollars of charitable donations from a Boca Raton church has been arrested, according to police.

Boca Raton Police have identified the man who took a little more than 20 minutes to break into the church's charitable locker as 46-year-old Michael Quick.

Employees at St. Joan of Arc Church reported the burglary Saturday after reviewing surveillance footage that shows Quick waiting until the only other person in the church left and going into the back room to break into the locker.

Detectives received a tip Thursday from a man who saw the video and recognized him. The tipster works at a nearby Valero gas station and recognized him from there, police said.

After speaking with some of Quick's neighbors, detectives located him and charged him with grand theft. Quick told police he needed the money for food, officials said.
