Police have identified a man whose body was found being eaten by alligators in a canal in Southwest Ranches in May.
The medical examiner has identified the man as 62-year-old Jean Jeunne, Davie Police officials said. Police believe he was homeless.
The man's body was found May 30 in a canal in the 7100 block of U.S. Highway 27 by two fishermen. Officers were able to scare the alligators away and retrieve the body but couldn't tell at first whether it was a man or woman.
Jeunne's exact cause of death remains under investigation.
