Man Killed in Domestic Incident: Fort Lauderdale Police

Police are investigating after a man was killed in domestic incident in Fort Lauderdale Thursday.

Officers found the man body inside a home in the 1200 block of Flagler Drive some time before 3 a.m., Fort Lauderdale Police said.

Police said they arrived at the home of 40-year-old Maurice Goodman after receiving a call saying that his ex-boyfriend, 35-year-old Otis Blue, had been heard screaming for help from inside Goodman's bedroom.

Officers arrived at the scene and Goodman's roommate let them in, pointing out the bedroom. When Goodman opened his door, officers could smell a foul odor and see a pair of feet under the bed sheets, according to the police report.

Officers then asked Goodman if Blue was inside and he said he was, the report said. Because Blue had been reported as a missing person, they forced their way into the bedroom and found Blue under the bed covers, with a large amount of blood covering the floor, bed and wall, according to the report.

Police said Goodman admitted to hitting Blue on head and killing him, according to the report.

Goodman was taken into custody and was hospitalized before he was taken to jail, police said.
