2 Women Found Dead in Hialeah Home: Police

Police in Hialeah are investigating after the bodies of two women were found in an East Hialeah home.

The double homicide claimed the lives of 32-year-old Tina Gutierrez and 82-year-old Martha Gomez Monday, police said.

Neighbors told NBC 6 the two women lived in separate wings of the home located in the 900 block of East 23rd Street. They said Gomez lived in the rear of the home, while Gutierrez lived in the front.

Gomez's daughter had been trying to reach her mother on the phone for some time, and grew concerned when her calls went unanswered.

Neighbors said the daughter went to the home, used a screwdriver to pry open the door, and found her mother lying on the floor. She called police who found the woman's body on the floor facing up and surrounded by blood. Police also found the body of Gutierrez in the front of the home.

"Whatever was done was done quietly because I didn't hear anything," said neighbor Ronny Balboa.

Police said they're looking for a man, Adrian Leyva, who is known to the victims. Officials said they need to locate him "concerning his welfare."

Both bodies were removed from the home, as was a car that reportedly belonged to Gutierrez.

No further information was immediately available.
