A female worker was shot during an armed robbery at a 7-Eleven in southwest Miami-Dade Monday, police said.
Officers responded to the store at 13690 Southwest 268th Street around 10:45 a.m.
Officials said an armed suspect demanded money from the worker at the register before he shot her.
The suspect followed the woman back into an office where he got into a physical altercation with a male employee, officials said. The suspect was able to flee the scene.
The female worker was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital's Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition.
No other information was immediately known.
