Police Looking for Suspects in Violent Plantation Robbery

Police are looking for a trio of suspects responsible for a strong arm robbery in Plantation.

The robbery happened Tuesday afternoon in the 1400 block of Southwest 72nd Avenue when two of the suspects approached a woman as she was unlocking her front door and robbed her of her purse and jewelry, police said.

The suspects got into a black Lexus SUV driven by the third suspect and fled the scene. The victim sustained minor injuries as a result of the robbery.

About 45 minutes later, one of the victim's credit cards was used at a Popeye's Chicken restaurant in Liberty City, police said. Cameras at the restaurant's drive-thru captured the suspect using the card then attempting to hide his face.

Police described the suspect as black males and said the first three characters of the Lexus are U11. Anyone with information is asked to call Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
