A Fort Lauderdale man is under arrest after police say he attacked and carjacked a woman in a BJ's parking lot Thursday morning.
According to police, Dameon Wilkey approached a woman as she exited her car in the parking lot of BJ's located at 5100 Northwest Ninth Avenue just after 8:30 a.m. Thursday.
Wilkey stole the woman's keys, pushed the woman to the ground and took off in her car.
The woman was taken to the hospital to be treated for minor injuries. Wilkey was located and arrested sometime later.
It is not known what charges Wilkey will face in relation to the carjacking.
It is not known if he has hired an attorney.
