Police Release Surveillance Video of Armed Robbery on Miami Beach

A woman was attacked and dragged by thieves in Miami Beach and police say it’s one of several crimes committed by two crooks over the course of a day.

The incident happened on Washington Avenue near 16th Street on the sidewalk. The woman was targeted by two men.

“There were three separate robberies, all from the same guys, we believe,” said Capt. Daniel Morgalo of Miami Beach Police.

The first incident took place around 2:45 a.m. on June 3rd at Third Avenue and Ocean Drive. Police said a man and a woman were targeted in that incident. One of the suspects had a gun and asked for whatever the victims had. They took off with $60.

About an hour later, they targeted another victim on Euclid Avenue. She was a female tourist on her way back from a club. She was threatened with a gun after one of the suspects demanded she hand over her phone. They made off with the victim’s phone and $200.

Shortly after 4 a.m., another robbery was caught on camera, this time, on Washington Avenue. Detectives said the victim was told to hand over her purse. She refused and yelled for police. That’s when she was hit with the gun and her purse was snatched.

“Based on the violence and threat to the community, we are asking for the public’s assistance,” said Capt. Morgalo.

Anyone with information on this incident is urged to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS.
