Police Search for Hit and Run Driver That Struck Bicyclist

Boynton Beach Police are searching for a driver they say hit a man on a bicycle, got out of his car, threw the bicycle to the side of the road and sped off, leaving the wounded victim behind.

Authorities say 65-year-old Joseph Larocca was riding his bicycle on the sidewalk outside a community complex early Saturday night when he was struck. They say the driver of the silver or gray sedan was leaving the complex when he hit Larocca, got out of his car and threw the bicycle to the side of the road so he could drive away.

Larocca was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, but they are not life threatening.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has information about the driver is urged to call 561-732-8116.
