Police say they found a three-year-old boy who was abducted by his mother Tuesday in Homestead. Detectives say Xzavius Alexander Edwards III and his mother, Clanetha Davis were located at Naranja Park.

On Sunday, Davis took the toddler from a home located on the 900 block of Northwest 11th Street, police say.

A news viewer called police and gave a tip on the pair's location. Officers found little Xzavius and his mother safe at the park located on southwest 264th Street and 141st Avenue.

A witness said Davis was sitting down at the park when officers approached her. "They just walked up to her and they weren't aggressive. Wanted to talk to her. The baby remained sitting down."

Davis was taken into custody and charged with Kidnapping of a Child Under 13-years-old.

The Department of Children and Family Services removed Xzavius from his mother's custody more than a month ago because of child abuse. She was arrested Sept. 28 and ordered to stay away from the three-year-old, according to court records. The boy's aunt has temporary custody.

Detectives were in contact with DCF to determine who will have cusotdy of the child.
