Police Search for Miami-Dade Stabbing Suspect

Miami-Dade Police continued to warn residents near SW 104th Street and SW 108th Avenue about Jorge Borda after he allegedly stabbed his girlfriend at least 20 times in her sleep last week.

“We do not want anyone to confront him,” said Miami-Dade Police Detective Alvaro Zabaleta. “We only would like information that would lead to his whereabouts.”

The stabbing happened while the victim was asleep in her home. She was rushed to a local hospital and is in good condition despite the stabbing. Borda is wanted for attempted murder and is on the run, but he’s also facing charges for a different incident.

Police believe Borda, 33, was involved in a hit-and-run accident the following day. Police said the situation turned hostile immediately after the crash.

“Once the other driver attempted to block him in so he would not flee the scene, he produced a firearm pointed it at the driver of the vehicle and threatened to kill them if they followed him,” Zabaleta told NBC 6.

Borda is known to hang out at businesses and neighborhoods near Miami-Dade College. A woman who asked NBC 6 not to identify her, said she recognized him and days before the stabbing, he harassed her outside of a local business.

“A dweeb guy, he says, ‘Hey Gorgeous,’ or something like that,” the woman said.

She said when she learned about the stabbing and saw Borda’s pictured, she got chills.

“Like he was a creep and just ignoring him most of the time,” the woman said of her interaction with the man. “Of course you might catch me in a bad mood, I might say something obnoxious back to him like, ‘Bug off!’”

Police said he should be considered armed and dangerous. Anyone with information is urged to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS (8477).
