A 911 call about an injured officer in Miami-Dade Thursday morning was a hoax, police said.
Police set up a perimeter in the area of 8000 Northwest Fifth Court after receiving the call around 10 a.m.
Miami-Dade Police worked to verify the validity of the call regarding the officers, and to assure that all officers are safe and accounted for.
Investigators were able to trace the location of the original caller, officials said.
The man, 38-year-old Eddie Lewis Taylor Jr., was arrested for misuse of emergency communications, police said.
Taylor was booked into jail and was being held on $1,000 bond Thursday, records showed. It was unknown if he's hired an attorney.
