Pompano Beach Pawn Shop Robbers Forced Pregnant Woman Onto Floor: Broward Sheriff's Office

Surveillance video shows a man pulling out his assault rifle and pointing it at people

The Broward Sheriff’s Office says it’s searching for two men who robbed a Pompano Beach pawn shop at gunpoint.

They forced a pregnant woman, a man holding an infant and other customers onto the floor of the Value Pawn at 3181 N. Dixie Highway on Oct. 27, the BSO said Friday in a statement.

Surveillance video shows customers filing into the shop – followed by a man who pulls out his assault rifle and starts pointing it at people.

Investigators say that man had a partner working with him.

“An accomplice comes in, forces employees to hand over cash and other valuables and then sprays them in the face with mace,” BSO spokeswoman Dani Moschella said.

No one was seriously injured, the BSO said.

Both suspects seem to be about 25 years old, the BSO said. It described one as 5 foot 9 inches tall and weighing 170 pounds. He wore a blue jacket and long, dark pants, as well as long dreads that may have been fake, according to witnesses.

The second suspect is about 5 foot 11 inches tall, weighs 175 pounds and has dark skin and short hair. He wore a black T-shirt, red shorts and a blue baseball cap, the BSO said.

At one point a man in a red shirt looked as if he were about to enter the store – until the gunman pointed the rifle at him and he left.

“People did work with detectives and were able to give us some information. However, we just need the public here,” Moschella said. “We need the public to take a good look at this surveillance video and tell us who these men are.”

The BSO asks anyone with information about the robbery to call Det. Armando Enrique at 954-321-4270 or Broward County Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS.
