Pompano Beach Tests City's Emergency System

The City of Pompano Beach will be testing the CodeRED Emergency Notification System Monday.

Pompano Beach residents will receive calls Monday as the city tests its emergency notification system.

Calls will be made in the morning and they will continue until the city calls the entire database of phone numbers.

The calls will help city officials a chance to test the system and residents will be able to verify that their phone numbers are part of the city’s database.

"All individuals and businesses should take the time to visit our website and add contact information to include cellular phones and other non-traditional phones as well as email and text addresses,” said Lamar Fisher, mayor of Pompano Beach. "If your contact information is not in the database, you will not receive a call when an urgent message is sent. In particular, those who have unlisted phone numbers, new phone numbers, and those who use a cellular phone as their primary numbers should make sure they are in the City's database."

Residents can enter their contact information here.
