Pop-Tart Bandits Nabbed by Cops

Thieves caught strawberry-red-handed with Toaster pastries, electronics

All they wanted was a ride home, and maybe a toaster, but two bumbling car thieves got a ride to jail last night after asking a deputy for a lift home.

Police say 18-year-old Eshon Hardy and 20-year-old Theodor Walker were breaking into cars in a Deltona neighborhood just before they asked Volusia County Deputy Austin Littleton to give them a ride.

Littleton first asked to search them, and when the two agreed, the deputy found numerous cell phones and GPS devices taken from nearby cars.

Apparently, all the thieving made the pair hungry. A package of strawberry Pop-Tarts was found on one of the suspects, apparently taken from one of the cars. The cops tracked the GPS units back to the cars they were taken from.

Hardy and Walker were charged with burglary and were being held on $1,500 bond.
