- Traffic in the area is being affected.
The City of Hollywood said a downed FPL pole has led to a power outage in the downtown area.
Florida Power & Light crews are working to repair the downed power pole located in the alleyway between Hollywood Boulevard and Harrison Street between 19th and 21st Avenues.
Hollywood Fire Rescue crews responded to a call of a smoldering power pole at about 11 p.m. on Friday.
"The damaged pole snapped while FPL crews were working on it – bringing down the attached power lines and causing a power outage that impacted most of the downtown area in the overnight hours. There were no injuries reported," the City of Hollywood said in a statement.
Traffic access to the alleyway is temporarily prohibited. FPL hopes to fully restore power by 4 p.m. on Saturday.
