Preseason Week Two Preview: Dolphins at Cowboys

The Dolphins will play their second preseason game on Friday in Dallas

The Miami Dolphins will continue their preseason schedule when they take on the Dallas Cowboys on Friday.

A week after seeing their reserves beat the New York Giants, the Dolphins will look for the same from their starters. Miami saw two quick three-and-outs from Ryan Tannehill and the rest of the first team offense in the first game. The reserves then went on to put up 27 unanswered points.

Tannehill and the rest of the starting offense should be on the field for at least the first quarter in this one. Its possible they will see a little action in the second quarter as well. As much as the Dolphins would like to avoid injuries, they need to start seeing some production from the starting group.

Miami will get its first look at Arian Foster in this one after the running back sat out last week's game. Foster is returning from an injury and head coach Adam Gase has elected to take it slow with the veteran. Miami will likely give Foster only a few plays as it did with Jay Ajayi last week.

The first-string defense for Miami will also get its first game action together. Ndamukong Suh, Cameron Wake and Mario Williams are all expected to start and play in Dallas. The trio did not play last week, but it is time for them to get game ready as well. The veterans will be critical to Miami's playoff hopes this season.

Roster battles will continue for Miami as well in this game. There will only be two preseason games left following this one and Miami needs to decide who will serve as depth for the regular season. For this reason along with injury risk, the Dolphins will likely play their backups for the entire second half.

Friday's game is scheduled to get underway at 8:00 p.m.
