From new school years to new bishops in town, there’s plenty happening in South Florida this week. Here’s a preview of The Week Ahead:

Behind-the-Scenes at the Post Office: We’re just about three weeks away from Christmas and the United States Postal Service is kicking their work into high gear. On Monday, NBC 6 cameras will get a behind-the-scenes look at their operations center in South Florida to show you how all your packages will get to where they’re going by the big day.

Broward Schools Votes on First Day of School: On Tuesday, the Broward County School Board will take a key vote on when to start the 2018 school year. The proposal would start the school year on August 15th, a Wednesday, instead of August 21st, a Monday. Several board members say the change would allow parents, teachers and students more time to get into the school year routine.

“El Farito” Migrants Go Back to Court: On Tuesday, the dozens of Cuban migrants who made it to the “El Farito” lighthouse on Key Biscayne last year, only to be sent back, will have their case heard again by federal judges. A judge representing the migrants are presenting their case to an appeals court in Atlanta, along with holding a special meeting for those migrants’ friends and families in South Florida.

Art Basel Begins in South Florida: South Florida will roll out the red carpet for one of the most memorable events of the year – Art Basel. Doors open for VIP exhibits on Wednesday afternoon, with smaller shows opening their doors to regular guests that same day. You can still snag tickets to the swanky event, which runs through next Sunday, for about $60.

New Bishop in the Archdiocese: On Thursday, Father Enrique Delgado will become Miami’s newest Auxiliary Bishop. Delgado has served the Archdiocese for decades in a number of parishes and roles, including completing much of his theological studies at popular South Florida universities. His appointment was made last month directly from the office of Pope Francis.

Museum of Ice Cream Opens: On Thursday, the Museum of Ice Cream is giving NBC 6 a behind-the-scenes look before their grand opening in Miami. Get those Instagram filters ready – tickets to the museum will cost $38.
