Preview of The Week Ahead: 7/16 – 7/22

From turnpike renovations to world class soccer, there’s plenty happening in the next few days here in South Florida. Here’s a preview of The Week Ahead:

New Details in Rape Case: New details are expected tomorrow in the alleged rape of a South Florida woman by two newlyweds from out of state. The victim in the case is set to speak out tomorrow about her alleged abduction and assault, by the same woman who was arrested days earlier for walking naked through a convenience store.

El Clasico Ticket Sales: Tickets go on sale Monday afternoon for practice sessions ahead of the “El Clasico” match. The practice for the match between Real Madrid and Barcelona is set for next Friday afternoon, ahead of the big game on July 29th at Hard Rock Stadium.

Medical Marijuana on Miami Beach: On Tuesday, residents of Miami Beach will have the opportunity to voice their thoughts on medical marijuana on the island. City commissioner Michael Greico, who is also running for city mayor, is planning an “open mic” forum on the idea, which is set to begin at 6 p.m. and will run through 8 p.m.

Turnpike Renovations: On Wednesday, Miami-Dade County residents will have the opportunity to speak their mind about proposed changes to the Florida Turnpike on Wednesday. The State Department of Transportation is holding a public meeting in Miami Lakes to get input on a number of changes that would add about 14 miles of road to the highway.

O.J. Simpson a Free Man?: O.J. Simpson could be let out of jail once again, if his parole hearing goes well on Thursday. In the past, members of the Nevada Parole Board have scored him “low” on the threat level. Simpson was convicted on a slew of charges back in 2007, including kidnapping and robbery.

NBC 6 Café: On Friday, the NBC 6 Café will be at Sunset Place. The NBC 6 Morning team will be there with cafecito, pastelitos, smiles and plenty of selfies. The team will be there beginning at 9:00 a.m.
