‘Princess Meadow Playground' to Honor Stoneman Douglas Victim Meadow Pollack

Playground will have 17 water fountains dedicated to 17 lives lost in the shooting

A playground in Coral Springs is being named in honor of Meadow Pollack, one of the 17 victims of the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School.

After Meadow Pollack was tragically killed in the Parkland shooting on Feb. 14, her father Andrew has been on a crusade to make change.

"I could think nothing better to to do than to build a spectacular park named after my daughter where people could come to this park and enjoy it and we could do a memorial for all 16 other victims," Andrew Pollack said Thursday.

Now the playground at the Betti Stradling Park will be named the Princess Meadow Playground.

"To see that park with the princess name is going to be unbelievable," Andrew Pollack said.

Part of the park will be transformed to have a water splash pad, new playground equipment and 17 water fountains dedicated to the 17 lives lost in the shooting.

"My daughter was my princess and we are going to do this like no other park. I already told my friend Mark who’s building it, this park better be something spectacular because it’s going to be named after my daughter," Andrew Pollack said.

The $1 million project will break ground in about a month and is being paid for by money raised through Andrew Pollack’s organization,
