Punta Gorda Girl Possibly Abducted, Found in St. Petersburg: Police

Deputies in Charlotte County, Florida say a Punta Gorda girl reported over the weekend as a runaway who might have been abducted was found in St. Petersburg Tuesday.

Just before midnight Saturday, Sydney Silvernail was reported to have run away from her Punta Gorda home. Authorities now say that due to information gathered on Monday, they have reason to believe Silvernail may have been taken by force.

Silvernail was located in St. Petersburg Tuesday afternoon, police said. She was initially believed to be in the Miami area but information received Tuesday pointed toward her being in the St. Petersburg area, police said.

The circumstances of her disappearance are still being investigated.

Detectives had been looking for Silvernail, as well as two other persons of interest said to be acquaintances of Silvernail. They are Ryan "Roach" Yates, 19, of Homestead, and Angelo Jacinto Cruz, 19, of Punta Gorda.

Silvernail is described as 5'5" and 150 pounds with brown eyes and black hair.

Yates stands about 5'9" and weighs 140 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes, while Cruz is about 5'6" and weighs about 120 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
