The good news? The wet weather should be gone in time for your evening plans.

While rain is in the forecast for much of South Florida, forecasts do not indicate wash-out on Independence Day. The morning looks dry for everyone while showers and storms are likely to form in the afternoon, beginning on the east coast and then slowly pushing west to inland areas by later in the day.

Fort Lauderdale and Miami might see rain tapering off earlier in the day with highs reaching near 90 degrees while inland areas see the storms holding on until early evening with the early call being for the rain to be done around 7 p.m. just in time for fireworks.
