A water splash led to a Texas rapper getting arrested for battery at a Miami Beach nightclub.
Rapper and media label executive Akinlolu Omololu, also known as "HoodyBaby," was arrested early Sunday after he struck two patrons at Story Nightclub in Miami Beach, police said.
The couple, a man and woman, were at the club when Omololu jumped over a metal rail and struck them, after water from the woman's water bottle splashed in his face, according to an arrest report.
"She became excited and began to shake a water bottle. The cap of the bottle came off and water splashed her husband and the defendant," the arrest report read.
The woman's right nostril bled while her husband suffered lacerations to his eyebrow, police said.
Omololu, close friend of musicians Lil Wayne and Chris Brown, claimed club security restrained him before he approached the pair.
But the nightclub's VIP table manager told police she saw the rapper hit the male victim with an "open-handed slap," the report said.
Upon his arrest, officers found cocaine and marijuana in the rapper's pockets.
The rapper, who signed to Young Money records in 2015, appeared in bond court on Monday morning.
Omololu has only lived in Miami-Dade County for two months. He was charged with cocaine and cannabis possession, battery and disorderly conduct.
