Gunman Opens Fire During Bank Robbery in Southwest Miami-Dade: FBI

Authorities are searching for a suspect who opened fire during a robbery at a bank in southwest Miami-Dade Thursday, FBI officials said.

Officials said the suspect walked into the TD Bank at 7400 Bird Road around 11:15 a.m. and fired a weapon into the ceiling.

The suspect took money and fled the bank in a stolen bakery van before Miami-Dade Police responded, officials said.

"We get robbers all the time, sometimes with guns, but one that fires in a bank is very dangerous," FBI Special Agent Michael Leverock said.

Footage showed officers surrounding the bank and shutting down traffic on the road outside the bank. Yellow crime scene tape was blocking the entrance.

Shortly after the robbery, police stopped a white bakery van and took a person into custody, but that person was later let go after it was determined he wasn't a suspect, officials said.

No one was injured in the robbery and authorities are searching for the suspect, officials said.
