Residents in Hollywood are concerned for their safety after a number of shootings in their neighborhood.

The most recent one happened just before midnight on Nov. 22. NBC 6 obtained home video showing muzzle flashes lighting up in the 6600 block of McKinley Street.

Two people were shot that night and are expected to recover, Hollywood Police said. Officials said the shooting was an isolated incident and didn't provide further details.

Neighbors said in the video, someone is heard running out of a house and firing back at a getaway car. Glimpses of what looks like muzzle flashes can be seen coming from the front porch.

“This is not a war zone. This is not Iraq. This is not Afghanistan,” said a neighbor who asked to remain anonymous.

Mauricio Abreu lives nearby and says the people at the house took off after the shooting.

“And [they] left the two people hurt on the floor. The woman and the man. She said, ‘Help help!’ We called the police,” Abreu said.

At least one of the victims was sitting in his car at a house, neighbors said. Video shows a neighbor walking outside and then screaming for help.

“A home that we've been having problems with on our block in our neighborhood had shots fired, and there was a young girl bleeding out. Car was shot up,” said a woman who asked not to be identified.

Neighbors say the shooting happened at a rental property and told NBC 6 there have been multiple recent shootings there.

They said it’s not the first time they’ve felt unsafe because of activity at the house. Most neighbors who spoke out asked to hide their identities for their protection.

“There have been police and numerous police calls of that residence. There was even a SWAT incident where the swat team was here and they had to go inside and remove somebody forcibly at gunpoint,” said a neighbor.

Records show the house belongs to RPS Consulting Florida, LLC. NBC 6 asked the owner of the company about his plans to enhance safety at the property, and he referred us to the company leasing the house as a short-term vacation rental business.

The company leasing the home is called LeisureLife Property, LLC.

“If the neighbors, or anyone, if they see something, let us know,” said the owner of LeisureLife Property, LLC. “As long as we’re aware, and we’re notified immediately, we will take action.”

The owner of LeisureLife Property, LLC said the shooter seemed to target a man and woman who were sitting in a car on the street in front of the house. The owner says the man was a guest, but the woman was not.

The City of Hollywood says the company's short-term vacation license has been revoked for an entire year.

Hollywood Police said they're increasing patrols in the area. They're asking anyone with information on the shooting to come forward.
