Robber Makes Off with Thousands from Bal Harbour Man

Police said the woman took $16,000 in property and cash from the man's apartment.

Bal Harbour Police are looking for a robber who targeted a patron of Club Liv at the Fontainebleu and made off with $16,000 in property and cash.

The clubbing and crime caper started at Club Liv, but then the male victim decided to bring the party back to his apartment in the Kenilworth Building. Around 3 in the morning, while the man was asleep, she made her move.

The woman was seen on surveillance video walking out of the building carrying her heels, wearing his $700 Gucci shoes, and carrying around $16,000 in property and cash.

“She’s a little experienced because she appears to be hiding her face from the cameras,” said Detective Hector Gonzalez. “I believe she has done this before and she knows there’s a camera there did everything to conceal her identity.”

Bal Harbour Police said this type of crime could be more common than many think. Police said the crime may be under-reported because men are sometimes too embarrassed to report it.

“These women are predators in one sense, they purposely look for individuals with money or wealth and they try to seduce or victimize them,” Bal Harbour Police Chief Mark Overton said. “There’s two elements to crime, opportunity and desire. If the person has the desire and you give them opportunity; you’re going to be victimized.”

Police said it’s possible the woman has other victims. If you have any information about the woman or were a victim, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS (8477).
