Robbers Sought in Hialeah Smash-and-Grabs

Police are searching for a group of robbers responsible for a binge of smash-and-grabs Friday overnight.

The robberies took place at four separate locations in Hialeah: 1165 West 29th Street, 927 West 29th Street, 1159 West 29th Street, and 1171 West 35th Street.

Surveillance video captured the crooks as they used a sledgehammer to break-in to the businesses. The suspects hid their faces with masks.

"In 3-4 minutes, they took almost the entire inventory for the store tablets, telephones, the register. Absolutely everything," one store employee said.

"I think that it was planned. They already came from various stores. It's unfortunate that businesses run this risk," another employee added.

The suspects are still at large. Police said they got away with $20,000 worth of merchandise from one of the stores.

If you have any information on this case, you're urged to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at (305) 471-TIPS.
