Police are searching for a gunman after an auto mechanic was shot during a robbery in northwest Miami-Dade Tuesday afternoon.
The incident happened around 1 p.m. in the 12400 block of Northwest 22nd Court when two men were robbed outside a home, Miami-Dade Police said. The man who was shot was taken to a nearby hospital, where his condition was unknown, while the other man wasn't injured.
A friend of the victim said he's a well-known car mechanic in the area and was fixing the air conditioner on a woman's car when the robbery and shooting happened. The friend said two suspects stole the man's chain, shot him, and fled the scene.
No other information was immediately known.
