Romeo Santos Drops 3rd Solo Album ‘Golden' On His Birthday

The auto-proclaimed King of Bachata, Romeo Santos, released his third studio album "Golden" Friday-- which just so happens to fall on the Bronx native’s 36th birthday.

The music video for his second single "Imitadora" will not only make you blush, but since dropping on Tuesday, it has done the impossible and dethroned "Despacito," Luis Fonsi's global hit, as the number one song on the Billboard's Latin airplay charts.

The king is not only celebrating the release of his third solo album Friday, but also his birthday.

"To be honest with you it kinda was planned," Santos said. "Originally, the album was supposed to come out I believe three months prior and I was unsatified with two records. I kept going back and I just couldn’t get the sound I was looking for and yo se lo culpo a la musa."

"Golden" is Santos' third solo album post-Aventura, the band that made him famous. It has 18 tracks, including two directed at the "haters," Santos said, as well as collaborations with other Latin stars such as Juan Luis Guerra, in "Carmin," and Nicky Jam and Daddy Yankee in "Bella y Sensual."
