The Salvation Army of Broward County is preparing to serve as a pick up location and shelter in anticipation of a possible cold weather emergency activation Saturday night.
The Salvation Army will begin its preparation by opening their doors at around 4:30 p.m. for a community meal.
Members of the community in need of shelter are encouraged to arrive at The Salvation Army located at 1445 West Broward Boulevard by 5:30 p.m. Saturday. The first 50 people to arrive will be taken to the Homeless Assistance Center located at 920 northwest 7th Avenue.
Cots, mats and blankets will be provided to accommodate those in need of them.
Members of the community seeking shelter Sunday are asked to follow the same procedure.
