NBC6.com Editor Helps Scooter Rider Injured in Hollywood Hit-and-Run Crash

Hollywood Police are looking for a hit-and-run driver who left a scooter driver seriously injured and lying in the middle of a road bleeding early Monday.

The crash happened around 4:40 a.m. in the westbound lanes of Pembroke Road near South 52nd Avenue, police said.

After receiving a 911 call from NBC6.com Deputy Editor Brian Hamacher, officers found the 65-year-old man lying in the road. He was taken to the intensive care unit at Memorial Regional Hospital with severe injuries.

A piece of the suspect vehicle, a 2008 or newer model white Nissan Altima, was left at the scene, police said. The vehicle likely has damage to front right portion of its body.
