An attorney representing the family of a missing 9-year-old Florida girl says the search for her has ended.
Attorney Thomas R. Basatta told reporters on Wednesday that law enforcement authorities have told Diana Alvarez's family that 28-year-old Jorge Guerrero-Torres made "admissions" that place him with the girl the morning she disappeared.
The girl has been missing since May 29.
Guerrero-Torres was arrested June 7 on federal charges of child pornography. Authorities say they found pornographic images on a cellphone they believe to belong to Guerrero-Torres. Investigators haven't said whether the images are of the missing girl.
Lee County Sheriff Mike Scott said in a statement that law enforcement agencies will continue to work on the case. He said no additional suspects are being investigated.
