Rescue crews responded to a serious crash in South Miami Tuesday morning.
The crash occurred on Southwest 57th Avenue at South Dixie Highway/US-1 just before 4:30 a.m. An initial investigation suggests that a BMW was headed northbound on Southwest 57th Avenue when it crashed into a building located at the Sunset Place mall.
At the scene, a wrecked car landed on its side in the middle of the road. According to Miami-Dade Police, two men were ejected from the car and critically injured. Both men were transported to Kendall Regional Trauma Center.
Police haven't released their identities.
US-1 was shut down both northbound and southbound between Southwest 70th Street and Southwest 57th Avenue. Drivers are advised to take alternate routes.
